The Klamath River Hose Company dba Klamath River Volunteer Fire Company was founded on April 1, 1985. We provide professional emergency services, both medical and fire, to residents of Klamath River, Horse Creek, Scott Bar, Hamburg, Beaver Creek, and all points east to the junction of highways 96 and 263.
Every firefighter volunteers their time to train, protect, and serve the community. The Board of Directors and Auxiliary are also volunteers providing financial guidance and fundraising support.
In the fall of 2008, the KRVFC started one of the first Explorer Posts in Siskiyou County sanctioned through the Boy Scouts of America, “Learning for Life” program. The program focuses on career exploration through real-world experience in community service for youths aged 14 to 20.
The KRVFC is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit and donation-dependent Fire Company. We rely on the generosity of donations from our community as well as fundraising activities, merchandise sales, and work contracts such as parking lot staff at the Siskiyou Golden Fairgrounds. We have also received grants in past years from the Volunteer Fire Assistance program through the USFS to help purchase firefighter and vehicle equipment.
